👇 6 Phases to Launch Your Employee Giving Campaign🎉

1. Securing a Matching Gift

This is when you are leading with impact, showing what is possible, and locking in matching gift donors. This has the ability to double your impact and get people involved. This is a creative way to ask for this gift. It is a powerful way to solicit when you tell someone that their gift will be used to inspire numerous other gifts.

2. Executive Leadership*

Leadership is setting the tone for the employee giving campaign. They are choosing to work for a nonprofit organization, and they need to be bought into the mission. The conversation can be different here. Tell them they are an example and their visible belief in the support is visible to set the tone for the organization. Your goal should be 100% support from your leadership.

3. Soliciting Your Foundation Staff and Campaign Volunteers (one month out)

Your development team is the heartbeat of this campaign. They are the closest to the ethos and culture of what you have built. Your campaign volunteers are your rabid fans. They have the ability to go into spaces you never could get into based on their proximity, their network, and their tenure at the organization.

Getting their gift early is really part of this strategy!

4. Your Renewal Campaign (1-2 weeks out)

Go back to your prior donors. Treat these donors special and allow your donors to feel like insiders.

5. Ask all Employees

This is the time that you are asking all employees to give, AKA the public launch of your campaign. Try to saturate the culture with these messages, images, and stories. You can probably feel the snowball getting bigger and bigger. By this moment, you should have a lot of people already on board.

6. Ask the Community

There are lots of ways to engage the community, so don’t miss them. Your employee giving campaign can be the start of your annual giving campaign. You can inspire that trust that you are working so hard to cultivate. There are ways that we can make people excited, get volunteers more targeted. It has an

What do you do with your volunteers? 6 Simple Steps:

1. Everyone has to find their passion and give.

2. Humanize and personalize the campaign.

3. Make it easy for them! Their job is to get this campaign in front of each person in their sphere of influence.

4. Ride the campaign wave. This is your time to rally the cause throughout the cause of the campaign. 🎉

5. Celebrate and steward them well. How are you going to celebrate the people who are creatively advancing the campaign?

6. Empower the ambassador. They could be recruiting new volunteers, sharing on social media, start their own crowdfunding effort, and more. Pass them the torch and let them take it to the next level.

The We are for good community

This is a safe place for deeper conversations. While we love this podcast, it is a very one-sided dialogue. It is great for starting conversations, but not continuing them. You can find friends, colleagues, and others to champion alongside. We believe community is everything and we wanted to create a place where people could learn and thrive and grow together (and also have a whole lot of fun).
